Cardio-/Cerebrovascular Disease, a common and frequently-incurring disease happening on the aged people, is one of most dangerous diseases to human body. Although there are certain therapeutic effects by taking drugs, high-pressure oxygen and ECP treatment (external counter pulsation), such treatments are not satisfying for prevention of this disease and patients’ recovery. Cardio-/Cerebrovascular therapeutic instrument series, produced by King Tontown Medical Instrument Co., Ltd. with the adoption of high-strength & specific alternating electromagnetic wave, give a better effects for the treatment of this disease, and are well accepted by users both at home and abroad. Our department has used this instrument on 30 cases from July to December 1995 with a better result. Therefore, we herby report it as below:
Materials and Methods
I. Choice of Cases:
According to WHO's diagnose standards for coronary heart disease and angina pectoris, we chose 24 patients who suffered the attack of angina pectoris for more than 2 times/days with ST-T change, or whose flat floor test result showed negative, including 14 male patients and 10 female patients aged from 48 to 77 years old averaging 62.6 years old. The duration of angina pectoris was from 1 to 10 years. 6 cases suffered from the angina pectoris with high blood pressure and 6 cases got cerebrovascular accident. All are male aged from 56 to 60 years old, including 4 cases of cerebral infarction, 1 case of left spastic paralysis after brain trauma and 1 case of Parkinson’s disease.
II. Therapeutic Methods
Apply the Cardio-/Cerebrovascular Therapeutic Instrument of King Tontown Medical Instrument Co., Ltd., and input 220V power with 50Hz frequency and output the alternating electromagnetic wave. The patient needs to repose on a special insulated therapeutic bed, 1 hour per time and 1 time per day. One course of treatment is for 15-30 days, and if necessary, the patient could stop treatment for one week. A consecutive treatment may be required for 2~3 courses. The patients who suffering angina pectoris were required to stop taking anti-angina pectoris drugs, but if necessary, could take nitroglycerin. Cerebrovascular accident patients were required only to take nutritious medicine for brain cells and stop taking blood vessel dilatation medicine.
III. Observation Guide:
1. Angina pectoris patients: increase/decrease of angina pectoris attack, change of heart rhythm and blood pressure, change of ST-T.
2. Cerebrovascular accident patients: subjective symptom, language, change of muscle strength and behavior.
Before treatment, the measuring for the change of the blood fat, BUN and blood sugar for above-mentioned patients was made, and few of them need to have microelements test.
V. Criteria for Treatment Effect (Provision)
1. Patients of angina pectoris:
① Apparent Effects: subjective symptom improved, angina pectoris attacks decreased and disappeared, and change of ST-T became normal.
② Turn Better: subjective symptom improved, angina pectoris attacks decreased to less than 2 time per day; ST-T change turned better.
③ Ineffective: above effects were not achieved.
2. Patients of cerebrovascular accident:
①Apparent Effects: symptoms improved and hemiplegia disappeared.
②Effective: symptoms improved, muscle strength increased and better actions.
③ Ineffective: No change.
